Phone Calls Not Reaching You?
The University of New Hampshire provides 24/7 on-campus directory assistance through an automated voice response (AVR) system. This service fronts our UNH phone operator and can be reached on campus by simply dialing the number 6, or *999. If you’re off campus, please dial (603) 862-1234.
Are callers having trouble reaching you? If you would like to correct or change the pronunciation of your name within the AVR system, leave voicemail at 862-4441. This is checked on a weekly basis for any updates or modifications. Inaccuracies and omissions should be channeled through the department’s TAM (Telecom Account Manager). If you’re not sure who to contact, the list can be found by visiting http://cis.unh.edu and clicking on the Telephones tab, then choose Telecom Account Manager from the dropdown menu. Changes are made to our database and reflected within the AVR in 2 business days.
Telecom also updates items, such as acronyms (wizbee = WSBE), alternate pronunciations of names (Jay = Jason), nick names (Bill = William), and UNH Department alternatives (‘Sponsored Research’= Office of Sponsored Research).
