Tech Notes: iWork 09

Apple iWork consists of three applications: Pages, a word processing application;
Numbers, a spreadsheet application; and Keynote, which is used for creating
presentations much like Microsoft PowerPoint. iWork ?09 includes new pre-designed
templates (available in all three applications), the customization of documents,
spreadsheets, and presentations, and the ability to open, save, and E-mail Microsoft
Office files. iWork '09 also reduces file sizes, which leaves more room on your computer
and makes sending attachments faster than before. Lastly, if you want to share your
documents online, Apple introduces iWork.com which works similarly to GoogleDocs. It
is still a beta version and requires a (free) Apple account.
iWork '09 requires Mac OS X 10.5.6 or later and, though 512MB of RAM will work, 1GB is highly recommended. A DVD drive is also required for installation. Visit iWork.com for more features. The software can be purchased at the UNH Computer Store. Please visit computerstore.unh.edu for details.
