White Ribbon Campaign
Men, take the pledge to end violence against women
SHARPP’s goal is to have as many men as possible in the UNH community make the pledge, and wear a white ribbon pin or bracelet during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
The White Ribbon Campaign (WRC) began 20 years ago growing to be an international campaign involving men who take a pledge to help end violence against women. This pledge is a commitment by men to hold each other accountable for the prevalence and pervasiveness of violence against women. Men wearing a white ribbon pin or bracelet have pledged to “never commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women and girls."
Take a look at our video for the White Ribbon Campaign (WRC). We asked men at UNH what they would do to end violence against women.
Violence Against Women Is A Men's Issues
- Men are the primary perpetrators of violence against women. Men can speak out and intervene when male friends and relatives insult or abuse women;
- The lives of our partners, friends, sisters and daughters are damaged by violence and abuse;
- Men can help create a culture in which the behavior of abusive men becomes unacceptable.
