Incoming Students & Families
Welcome to the University of New Hampshire!
We are the Sexual Harassment & Rape Prevention Program! But UNH students know us more commonly as SHARPP. We provide free and confidential support, advocacy and education to the UNH community on issues of relationship abuse, stalking and sexual assault/violence.
There is a lot to know about sex, alcohol, consent, relationships, personal safety and SHARPP services. To help, we have taken some of the most commonly asked questions about sexual assault and consent we get each year from incoming students and attempted to answer them right here, right now, just for you!
By the time you graduate from UNH, you will most likely have encountered a SHARPP educational table at the MUB, heard a SHARPP presentation in an academic class, seen the Clothesline Project in your residence hall, walked in our annual anti-violence rally, been a member of our Being Fierce and Fabulous group, attended one of our many other educational programs or chose to be a SHARPP volunteer. In addition, it may also be likely that as a UNH student you or someone you know will have come to us seeking help with a recent or past sexual assault, an unhealthy relationship, relationship violence or concerns about stalking.
