Dawn Zitney, M.Ed.
Media Outreach Coordinator
As the media outreach coordinator, Dawn is responsible for creating, implementing and managing the department’s marketing and social marketing campaigns. She ensures that SHARPP has a strong presence on various social media sites and around the University community. Dawn also co-facilitates an empowerment group for women entitled Being Fierce and Fabulous and provides direct service to survivors.
Much of Dawn’s personal and professional life has been dedicated to women’s issues and women’s health. At UNH she has been involved with the President’s Commission on the Status of Women and attempts to insert women’s issues into all conversations on social justice. Dawn believes helping women rediscover their core strengths and connect with others in meaningful and empathatic ways is essential to creating healthy communities. It is this belief that has kept Dawn working towards women’s empowerment at UNH since 2004 and helped her make the transition from Health Services to SHARPP in 2010.
