Tiffany Tiffany Rowin,
McLaughlin Hall Director

Undergraduate degree: University of New Hampshire, B.S. Environmental Conservation: Environmental Affairs

Graduate degree:  Working on finishing up my M.S. in Resource Administration and Management

Why did you become a hall director?:

It was something I always wanted to do. When I was an undergrad I was a RA in Christensen for two years. Those two years provided me with some of the most rewarding experiences and valuable lessons and I hoped being a hall director would expand upon those. So needless to say when the opportunity presented itself I jumped on it. Being part of the UNH dorm community is exciting and everyday is new with new lessons and experiences.

Any advice for Incoming students?:Tiffany & Partner

Talk to everyone especially if you wouldn’t have talked to someone whodressed/acted/talked like them while you were in High School, sit in the front three rows of your large lecture classes, and always ask questions don’t worry about it being a stupid questions because those always get the best answers. Also keep in mind, college is what you make it so make it yours.

Why did you choose UNH? What attracted you to the area or to the school?:

I choose UNH because I have been part of the UNH community is some way or another for the past seven years, I did my undergrad here, I worked here, and I am attending graduate school here. That said I do remember why I first came to UNH. When I was a junior in high school during spring semester I came to UNH for a college visit, everyone was so nice, the campus was beautiful, and it was far enough away that I would be on my own but I could get home in a couple hours if needed. These and many small things just sold me on UNH, I applied for early admittance and never looked back.

Any previous experiences, hobbies, etc. that you would want first year students to know about you?:

Tiffany Rowin

I love the outdoors, so winter is snowboarding, and hiking. The other three seasons I like to hike, mountain bike, and study plankton (especially looking at blooms patterns). I rowed crew for 7 years and my first year at UNH I was on the crew team back when it was a varsity sport. That said I would say join a sports team or club because the people you meet on teams or in clubs will stay with you for life.

Thoughts you might be having coming into own "1st year" here at UNH?:

Go for it. Make it your own and put yourself out there. Remember to focus and prioritize this means taking time for you just as much as it means to study and work hard.
