Why did you become a Hall Director?:
I became a Hall Director because I loved being an RA. I was a commuter my first year going to college and didn’t get involved as much as I wanted to until I got the opportunity that pretty much changed my life, becoming an RA (I giving a shameless plug to becoming an RA). I felt that by becoming a Hall Director I would learn from my coworkers and mostly from the students. The students is the most fun part of the job. The most satisfying part of my job is seeing the students learn and grow not only from peers, faculty and staff, but from their own personal experiences throughout these four years.
Any Advice for Incoming 1st Year Students?:
Please keep an open mind when coming to school. This is the first time in your life where you get to try new things and really become yourself. These next four years will define who you will be for the rest of your life. Lastly, be safe and have fun!
Why did you choose UNH? What attracted you to the area or the school?
I chose UNH because how much the institution is dedicated to the students and how much we focus on educated students to be people and prepare them for the rest of their lives.
The surrounding area is peaceful and country like, but if I need to go to shopping or to a movie it is just ten minutes down the road.
Any previous experiences, hobbies, etc, that you would want 1st Year Students to know about you?
I love to play sports. I was a high school baseball player and track and field captain. I also love to play football, pick up games of basketball, volleyball…pretty much anything that is fun I am down for doing it. I love to hit the gym and lift.
I am also a huge New England/Boston sports fan. So you will see and hear me cheering for the home teams. I also enjoy engaging conversations with people about politics, food, sports, and if I don’t know all that much about it I hope that you will inform me about it.
Thoughts you might be having coming into your own “1st year” at UNH?
I am just really excited to be working and living at such a great institution. I look forward to seeing, speaking, learning, and having fun with everyone.
