Leadership is a BIG thing in Mills Hall! While leadership can be practiced anywhere, anytime, by anyone, there are some positions of formal leadership in Mills Hall that set good examples for the residents who live here:
THE MILLS RA STAFF
The Mills RAs are AWESOME!! These 10 undergraduate, upperclass students lead with integrity, courage, and conviction everyday in Mills Hall. Each RAs works directly with 30-40 Mills residents, acting as resources, friends, academic and behavioral role models, information givers, counselors, programmers, and community developers who are sensitive to the needs, values, and lifestyles of many different types of people. This kind of work takes self-confidence, openness, and strength of character - you won't find a harder working bunch on campus!!!
THE MILLS HALL COUNCIL
The Mills Hall Council is the voice of Mills Hall students! Each week, the MHC comes together to meet with each other and with Mills residents to provide a forum for information sharing and information giving, as well as program planning and community building. The Hall Council is an integral part of the Mills community, because it is of the students, by the students, and for the students! The Hall Council collects student dues at the beginning of each school year and uses those dues to put on social programs throughout the year for Mills residents. Some examples of quality Hall Council programming (also supported by the RA staff) this year are: the NYC Bus Trip, a Stress Relief Night, and a Professional Hypnosis Show. The Executive Board of the MHC are a fun, fabulous group who work well together to assess the needs and wants of Mills community, and make those needs and wants a reality! |
