Ask any student on campus, and they'll tell you that Mills Hall is the PLACE TO BE!!

The newest residence hall on the UNH campus, Mills opened in November 2002 as the only suite-style living environment available to students. Mills is home to 358 wonderful upper-class residents who enjoy amenities such as air-conditioning, a modern kitchen and laundry facilities, and three lounges per floor. In Mills, students live in 4, 5, 7, or 8 person suites, all of which have their own bathrooms, and the 7 and 8 person suites even have their own living areas!

Mills is a gorgeous building, located right in the heart of campus next to the MUB and bordering a great quad area where students can play whiffle ball, throw a football around, or lay out and read to their heart's desire.  Mills is also conveniently close to downtown Durham and the Durham Marketplace Plaza , so everything students need is right at their fingertips!

Mills Hall has 18 lounges (WOW!) for students to use for studying or getting together for a hall program.  Students have access to a great size laundry room, a kitchen, a pool table, a ping pong table, a foosball table, a TV/VCR, and a Seminar Room that serves as a great study area (particularly for group study sessions).

Mills Hall Values

Mills Hall is staffed by 10 undergraduate Resident Assistants (2 per floor) and one Residence Hall Director, who work to promote strong values and ethics through the work they do with students. Additionally, the Mills Hall Council (a body of seven undergraduate students who volunteer their time) works to provide social programming for students in Mills, as well as to give voice to any issues the students may have regarding just about anything.

Collectively, the Mills Resident Assistants, Hall Council, and Residence Hall Director work together to promote the following set of values in Mills Hall:

"Living in Mills is something special. The bonds you make and the warm arms that are open when you need them most is an amazing thing... this is not just a dorm, it's a household full of family who respect each other."

"The suite style rooms are great because students feel like they are more independent, similar to living in an apartment but are located right in the middle of campus life and can continue to enjoy the dorm community. The hall is very welcoming--the staff is awesome!"

"With academic success as my first priority, living in Mills Hall allows me to effectively accomplish this goal by creating a quiet and productive community. Both staff and students together, strive for a fun and safe habitat where everyone benefits."

From our Fall 2005 Student Experience Survey...

93

of Mills residents agreed that they like living in the hall.

89%

of Mills residents agreed that they respect their RA.

84%

of Mills residents agreed that they get along well with their roommates.
