Welcome to the Manor!
Welcome to Lord Hall- or the Lord Manor as it is often called. The Manor is a small hall that is highly involved and a great community.
If you want a place to feel at home where you know your neighbors, this is it! |

Each residence hall on campus
has its own distinctive culture.
We have a unique resident on the ground floor, Rocky. He’s a large rock that takes up one wing of the floor, and he likes to give shout outs to residents who do great things!
Lord bucks are given to those we find studying throughout the building, or to Lord residents who are just fabulous. At the end of each semester we hold a raffle with these bucks for fabulous prizes!
Lord is famous for our hallway parties. Usually on any given night you can find residents just hanging out in the hallway talking to each other or even studying. It is becoming fashionable to invite friends into the hallway instead of into a student's room for a good conversation.
We’ve got a lot of residents on various sports teams, including field hockey, soccer, football, cross country, gymnastics, lacrosse, and skiing. It’s always fun to catch a game and support your fellow residents! |

Community Partnership:
Lord has a partnership with Moharimet Middle School in Madbury, NH. It has been a great success!
Lord Hall residents have participated in regular Parents Night Out- a program where kids play at the school on one Saturday night a month.
Students have also volunteered with the Pumpkin Stroll, the Taste of Moharimet food festival, and the Winter Carnival (a day full of games, face painting, food and fun!
This partnership is headed by a volunteer coordinator who serves as part of the Lord Hall Council. It’s a great way to get involved in the hall and the local Durham community! |
Academics:
In Lord, academics are taken very seriously. In the fall 2007 semester close to 50 residents made the honors list. That’s almost half of the building!
Overall, there are 37 different majors represented in Lord. These range from the Biochemistry to Business Administration to History to Political Science and many points in between! Students can always be found studying in one of Lord’s lounges, which range in size and can accommodate study groups as well.

Commitment to Diversity:
Lord is committed to supporting diversity, and we encourage residents to challenge others who use discriminatory language. Our goal is to make Lord the most open and welcoming place it can be, and to make all residents feel safe. This year we hosted the Bias Gallery, a collection of bias incidents from around campus, along with a discussion. We also hosted a Safe Zones training, encouraged residents to get involved in MLK jr. week on campus, and had a theme week about disability awareness. |
Lord by the Numbers

93% of Lord residents like living in this hall
95% of Lord residents say most people on their floor are respectful of each other
96% of Lord residents say their overall experience at UNH has been good |
