I chose to become a resident assistant because…
I felt that I could be a good influence on the Jessie Doe community.   I am also looking forward not only to meeting, and getting close with, an amazing group of residents, but also establishing strong bonds with my staff members.  I like a challenge, and I think throughout this year this position will give me that.  I also felt as if I wasn’t as involved with the UNH community as much as I should have been and having this position will allow me to show more people who I really am.  Basically, I wanted to be positive for others and have fun while doing so.

If you want to start a conversation with me…
Say anything! Get my attention!

My advice for first year students is…
HAVE FUN! But also make sure that you are doing what you are supposed to.  Freedom is a great thing, but it holds many temptations, trust your gut!

PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE – how are people going to get to know you if you don’t make the attempt to get to know them?

TRY SOMETHING NEW – do something you would have never thought of doing, you never know what may come out of it!

DONT JUDGE A BOOK BUY ITS COVER – people have a lot more to them than an exterior.

GO TO CLASS – trust me you’ll be glad you did J

If you want to get on my good side…
Don’t break the rules, and come and talk to me.  I don’t bite I promise!

In my spare time I enjoy...

  1. Fishing
  2. Red Sox
  3. Pool
  4. Relaxing
  5. Meeting new people
  6. Cracking jokes
  7. I’m really up for anything, so I'm open to any new ideas

The mistake I made that I hope my residents will avoid is…
Don’t feed into the peer pressure, sometimes its worse here than in high school.  Make good choices and trust your gut instinct.  Freedom is great when used correctly.

One thing you wouldn't know about me is...
My father has Multiple Sclerosis, and believe it or not, it’s had its fair share of blessings. My dad is one of my best friends and I hope to pass on many things he has taught me through his dealings with his disease.

You should also know...
I’m horrible at any video game…so if anyone needs an ego boost I’M YOUR MAN!

I chose to become a resident assistant because…
Short and simple, I love what I do and I love being there for people!

If you want to start a conversation with me…
Don't be shy! I love chatting about anything and I promise I don't bite :) If you’re still a little nervous just mention “The Phantom of the Opera.”

My advice for first year students is…
To find that balance between work and play.  Don't lose sight of the real reason you’re at college.

If you want to get on my good side…
Be open and non-judgmental of people and things you don't know and/or may not be familiar with.  Kettle Corn is always a shoe-in, too.  ;)

In my spare time I enjoy...
Hanging out with my friends, watching movies, and just having a good time!

The mistake I made and hope other residents will avoid is...
Not getting involved in a lot of the different activities and groups that UNH offers.

One thing you wouldn't know about me is...
I write plays and poetry.

You should also know...
That there is a lot more to me than just my RA title, so get to know me and think of me not only as your RA, but as a student, a friend, and your support system.

I chose to become a resident assistant because
I want to help make a comfortable atmosphere for first-time residents and make a fun environment for all my residents to have a fun and successful year!

If you want to start a conversation with me
Just smile and say something!

My advice for first year students is
To manage your time wisely and get enough sleep to do well in classes.

If you want to get on my good side
Just be friendly!

In my spare time, I enjoy
Riding my horse Charlie and spending time with my friends.

The mistake I made that I hope my residents will avoid is
Spreading myself too thin with classes and social activities.

One thing you wouldn't know about me is
That I love animals; I have four cats, two dogs, and a horse.

You should also know that
I’m looking forward to being an RA this year and I look forward to a fun-filled school year!

I chose to become a resident assistant because
My RAs from the previous year were amazing people and made my UNH experience so amazing. Therefore, I wanted to do the same for others and effect others the way I had been.

The mistake I made that I hope my residents will avoid is
Missing the point of college. You're here to expand your mind and learn how to think critically and openly, not just get the grade.
Learning is shown through openmindedness, hard work, and attitude, not a letter grade.

One thing you wouldn't know about me is
I have tough days too. I often think, "Am I doing the right thing?"
and question my choices. But in the end, I know this is where I belong and that I know how to make good decisions. I love UNH and it's truly my home!
