Why did you apply to be an RA?

I felt like it would be a great opportunity to develop my leadership skills.

What was the application/interview/hiring process like for you?

It was not as stress full as I thought it was going to be. It was just a straight forward and smooth process.

Has the RA experience been what you expected? Why or why not?

Why or why not? Yes and No. In a lot of ways being an RA is what I expected but there are a few curve balls thrown in here in there!

What is the most rewarding aspect of being an RA?

Meeting some amazing new people and knowing that I am someone that my residents look up to.

What has been your biggest challenge for you?

Separating your friendships from the job. I have gotten real close with some of my residents and it can be a challenge when I have to reprimand them for breaking a rule.

What advice would you give to someone considering the RA position?

It is definitely something you want to do! This job has opened my eyes in so many ways! It is an experience of a lifetime!
