When we say to dress casually, we mean it!!

Basically, we want you to be comfortable, and we want to get to know who you really are -- so if you feel like dressing up, fine... if not, that's fine too. You'll find that most of your interviewers will be dressed casually. And one last thing: UNH is a walking campus, so make sure you have comfortable shoes.

Candidates usually arrive the evening before their interview day to meet their host and get an overview of the following day, along with plenty of reading material.

You could fly:

Most often, candidates fly into Manchester Airport. Your hall director host would pick you up, get you settled in, and return you back to the airport after your interview

  • Manchester Airport, NH (40 minutes south of Durham) Most candidates find it easiest to fly into Manchester where your hall director host can pick you up at the airport.

You can take the Amtrak Downeaster:

Amtrak Downeaster service provides four round-trips daily between Boston (North Station) and Portland, Maine. The Downeaster service stops directly at the UNH campus Friday through Sunday. During your time with us, you'll be staying on campus. We'll give you directions, along with the name of a person to contact upon your arrival.

Your host will escort you to each portion of your interview and take you to meals, most of which will be in our Dining Halls unless you are coming in the summer.

Your host may also bring you along to a campus event, a social get-together, or even to Portsmouth, if you are up for it.
