Selecting the Sponsor

    1. At step 3, select or confirm your proposal sponsor.
    2. NOTE: If you selected from a known list of “Spin” or “Grants.Gov” opportunities in step 2, the sponsor will be entered for you. You can always change the sponsor later in the process during the “Setup Questions”.

      Step 3

      If you chose to manually enter your opportunity number at step 2, you will be able to select the sponsor now. First click the appropriate letter from the alphanumeric display, then use the drop down list to scroll and locate the sponsor. Alternatively, after clicking the appropriate letter from the display, you can use the “Search for a particular entry” text box and type the sponsor name.

      1. Step 4 will be pre-populated with the next available institution number. Accept the default value and click “Continue to Next Step”.
      1. At step 5, enter the Proposal Long Title and click “Continue to Next Step”.
      1. At step 6, enter the proposed project start and end dates by using the calendar or by entering the dates in the format “MM/DD/YYYY”.
      1. At step 7, budget periods will be partitioned based on the project start and end dates. For example, if you selected a 3 year duration, make sure the budget periods drop down is set to 3 – typically 1 year is equal to 1 budget period.
