Faculty/Postdoc Education Loan Repayment Program
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) will repay up to $35,000 in student loans each year for Ph.D. or postdoctoral scientists who agree to conduct “qualified” biomedical, behavioral, social, or clinical research, REGARDLESS of whether or not they have external funding for their research. Dain Laroche (Kinesiology), a successful NIH Loan Repayment Program awardee, will share his insights and answer attendees’ questions about the Program. NIH Loan Repayment Program website

Navigating UNH Research Office Services and Supports
Presentations by Research Office service unit staff to acquaint new faculty with:
- Specific services available to support conduct of research and scholarship at UNH,
- How to “navigate” the UNH system to submit proposals for external support, and
- Critical information about responsible conduct of research and scholarship that applies to all types of research, teaching, and advising students.

Research Computing and Cyberinfrastructure for UNH
This session focuses on cyberinfrastructure and the UNH strategic plan area to expand resources for all research disciplines. An overview of recent and planned initiatives to increase NH cyberinfrastructure and the resources available through Research Computing and Information Technology to support research projects and other scholarly activities will be highlighted along with actual examples involving UNH. Planning efforts that lead to partnering across disciplines at UNH to seek future funding sources and new project ideas will be introduced.

UNH Cooperative Extension: Using Engagement to Broaden the Impact of Your Project
As an application and extension arm of the UNH research community, Cooperative Extension's mission is to bring research-based information to varied audiences. This workshop will introduce faculty to Cooperative Extension, discuss the broad range of expertise and programming offered, and explore the role Extension may play when responding to calls for proposals or designing program evaluation and implementation strategies.
