Introduction to Research Development at UNH and the related education and training programs available for faculty and staff presented at the Provost's Orientation for New Faculty.

Excellence in Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activities

Welcome by Jan Nisbet, Senior Vice Provost for Research, followed by panel presentations by junior faculty peer role models re: personal experiences and strategies for success in research/creative activities, particularly for securing extramural funding, external engagement, and graduate and undergraduate student engagement. Includes a follow-up question/answer period and opportunity for attendees to talk about their own research/ creative activities and explore collaborations with other new faculty and with the presenters.

Navigating UNH Research Office Services and Supports

(Part of the Resources for Researchers series)

Presentations by Research Office service unit staff to acquaint new faculty with:

  • Specific services available to support conduct of research and scholarship at UNH,
  • How to “navigate” the UNH system to submit proposals for external support, and
  • Critical information about responsible conduct of research and scholarship that applies to all types of research, teaching, and advising students.

Audience: All Faculty (particularly 1st and 2nd years)

Luncheon for New Faculty with the Senior Vice Provost for Research – Looking Back at the Year

Opportunity for newer faculty to reflect on early experiences at UNH, strengthen relationships and explore collaborations with others in the “cohort,” and learn about support services available to early and mid-career faculty from the constituent units of the UNH Research Office.
