Becton-Dickinson FACS Calibur flow cytometer

This instrument can measure fluorescence intensities and light scattering properties from hundreds of individual particles (cells, nuclei, polymer beads, etc.) per second as they pass in a stream of liquid by one or two lasers.  Fluorophores within particles may be excited at 488 nm with emitted fluorescence collected on one or more of three channels [515-545 nm (green), 564-606 nm (orange), >670 nm (far red)] and/or at 635 nm with fluorescence collected on a fourth channel [653-669 nm (red)].
