Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy
PGT Imix-PC energy-dispersive X-ray microanalysis system
The EDS is an operator controlled system on the scanning electron microscope. It has an atmospheric thin-window detector and is capable of detecting elemental X-rays. Simultaneously, up to 8 elements in X-ray maps can be obtained. Both X-ray maps and digital images can be stored for later viewing and analysis. The X-ray elemental maps can be color coded by specific element. The software in the EDS is available for qualitative, semi-quantitative, and full-quantitative elemental analysis. The EDS can detect elements heavier than carbon.
