RCI Staffers Attend Weekend DrupalCamp

Two software engineers represented RCI at DrupalCamp last weekend.  The event was held at Great Bay Community College in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.  Drupal is an open-source, PHP-based web application and content management system.  It has been adopted by UNH for many web-based projects.

RCI Associate Director Develops Data Center Monitoring Technology

Modern data centers, Like RCI’s Lenharth Data Center, contain thousands of dollars worth of hardware and are equipped with a multitude of sensors that monitor a variety of environmental conditions including power, incoming chilled water temperature, air temperatures, UPS runtime, and fluid flow.  RCI’s Associate Director, Robert Anderson, developed SheepDog.  SheepDog is a system that constantly monitors data center sensors and alerts RCI staff 24/7 to potential problems in the Lenharth Data Center.  It initiates automatic shutdowns to protect the safet

IT-II Software Engineer:  The main purpose of this position is software programming and development on the Environmental Response Management Application (ERMA) projects. Knowledge of or interest in GIS technology is required. Customer support, documentation, and knowledge of security policies and procedures will also be required.
