RCR Case Studies Available on Office of Research Integrity Website

The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) recently posted on its website a series of case studies addressing a vareity of topics in the responsible conduct of research.  The ORI Casebook: Stories about Researchers Worth Discussing (Casebook) is desgined to raise awareness of the types of ethical dilemmas researchers may encounter and provide a way to work through them. 

The Casebook consists of the following eight topic chapters:

  • Authorship and publication
  • Research misconduct
  • Collaboration
  • Data acquisition and management
  • Peer review
  • Conflicts of interest
  • Mentor and trainee relationships
  • Social responsibility

Each chapter contains an introduction, the case, discussion questions, informational textboxes (providing standard information individuals may need to make appropriate decisions) and role plays.
