In 2011, the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) revised its financial conflict of interest in research (FCOIR) regulations regarding research funded by it or its component agencies (e.g., the National Institutes of Health).  These regulations are effective August 24, 2012.

As a result, UNH will implement a new interim policy on August 24, 2012 to respond to these regulations. The interim policy will affect individuals who submit proposals for research funding to PHS agencies, and/or who may receive such funds, on or after August 24.  It may also apply to other organizations (e.g., American Heart Association) that require compliance with the PHS financial conflict of interest in research regulations.

Staff from the Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Research (OSVPR) will hold an information session on the new requirements on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, 12:40-2:00 p.m. in the Trustees' Board Room, Thompson Hall.  If you plan to attend, please register. Individuals who have recently submitted a proposal for research funding to a PHS agency (or organization requiring compliance with the PHS regulations), or plan to submit a proposal in the near future, are encouraged to attend one of the sessions.
