UNH Researchers Honored with Awards and Fellowships

Four UNH researchers recently were honored for their outstanding research and public service: David M. Burdick, Andy Fast, Becky Sideman and Lisa M. Jones.

David M. Burdick, research associate professor in the department of natural resources and Jackson Estuarine Laboratory, was presented with the Gulf of Maine Council on the Marine Environment award, which recognizes the important contributions made to the health of the Gulf of Maine, by Gov. John Lynch and Department of Environmental Services Commissioner Tom Burack.     Read more

Andy Fast, a field specialist with UNH Cooperative Extension, has been named the Northeast Region Tree Farm Inspector of the Year by the American Tree Farm System®, a nationwide program that encourages private forest owners to actively manage their forests in a sustainable manner for multiple values.       Read more

Becky Sideman, UNH Cooperative Extension associate professor/specialist, sustainable horticulture production, had a research article she coauthored featured in, and used as the cover photo for, the June issue of HortTechnology, the "TIME magazine for Extension educators."    Read more

Lisa M. Jones, a research associate professor of psychology at the Crimes against Children Research Center (CCRC), was awarded a three-year fellowship by the Stoneleigh Foundation to explore ways that new technology could improve the impact of a bullying prevention and social-emotional education program for inner city and at-risk youth.     Read more
