NH Charitable Foundation Announces Changes to its Competitive Grant Programs
NH Charitable Foundation Announces Changes to its Competitive Grant Programs
Dear UNH Research Community,
As you may be aware, New Hampshire Charitable Foundation recently announced changes to its competitive grant programs. This change impacts Community Impact Grants and Express Grants which have been rolled into the COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM, and the Neil and Louis Tillotson Fund program. Please review the new grant guidelines carefully as there are some changes in funding priorities. (See: www.nhcf.org/page.aspx?pid=1197.) August 31st is the next deadline for requests of more than $5,000, while those less than $5,000 will be accepted on a rolling basis.
Perhaps most significantly, NHCF launched a new on-line grants portal, through which all competitive proposals must be submitted. Going forward, UNH will have only two accounts—one for Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) and one for the UNH Foundation (UNHF).
- Sponsored Programs Administration--All competitive grant requests are to be submitted through SPA and SPA will be listed as the “grantee”. There will be no separate accounts for UNH programs; so, although some of you may have received log-in information from NHCF recently, they will be deactivating these accounts. Please continue to work with your Grants & Contract Administrator for all competitive grant requests.
- UNH Foundation—The UNHF typically deals with gifts from NHCF Donor-Advised Funds and donor gifts made through NHCF. Typically, proposal submissions for these Funds come at the invitation of a program officer at NHCF and are not part of the competitive grant cycle. These grant requests should NOT automatically go through the SPA account. Instead, please contact Diane Schaefer (diane.schaefer@unh.edu) at UNHF for guidance.
Please note that NHCF is still “working through” all the ramifications of the new online system and there may be other changes going forward. For now, though, this will be the proposal submission process. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact either Victor Sosa or your GCA at SPA or Diane Schaefer at the UNHF.
Regards,
Victor
