What Works! 2011  -- The Future of Entrepreneurship and Community Development will bring together practitioners, researchers, educators, and decision-makers to address critical issues in promoting entrepreneurship in the U.S.  What Works! will take place September 18-20, 2011 in Philadelphia, PA.

Participants in the conference will have opportunities to present and discuss their own programs and research in a variety of venues, and learn about state-of-the-art research documenting the impact of local small business entrepreneurship on regional economic growth and development.

Proposals for presentations at the conference are being accepted until July 1, 2011:   Call for Proposals

Products to be presented include research, case studies, best practice models, assessment tools and virtual presentation stations (to replace traditional posters).  A peer-reviewed proceedings of selected papers, programs and posters will be published.

Sponsored by the Northeast Regional Center for Rural Development, it is anticipated that this event also will provide a platform for constructing a regional economic development plan that capitalizes on the strengths of educators and researchers while benefiting from the input of community leaders.
