February 2013 Ethical and Responsible Conduct of Research Training

The UNH Responsible Conduct of Research and Scholarly Activity (RCR) Committee announces the availability of training in the ethical and responsible conduct of research.   

This training opportunity involves two components:

Revised IACUC Application Forms

The UNH Insitutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) has made changes to application forms for use of vertebrate animals in research and in instruction. The revised forms are available on the IACUC webpage at http://www.unh.edu/research/animal-care-use as Word, RTF and PDF files.  

New Requirements for Applicants for Public Health Service (PHS) Research Funding

In 2011, the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) revised its financial conflict of interest in research (FCOIR) regulations regarding research funded by it or its component agencies (e.g., the National Institutes of Health).  These regulations are effective August 24, 2012.

New UNH Policy on Use of Controlled Substances

The University of New Hampshire (UNH) must comply in its research and scholarly activities with federal and state laws and regulations regarding the use of controlled substances.  These laws and regulations are promulgated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHSS).  Not only is compliance an institutional responsibility, it is also a matter of safety for UNH faculty, staff, and students as controlled substances can be extremely dangerous.
