New Director of Animal Resources Office

Dean Elder, D.V.M. is the new Director of the UNH Animal Resources Office (ARO).  Dean has worked in the ARO since 2005 in various positions, including Associate Director.   He has been Interim ARO Director since mid August.   Dean is also UNH’s Attending Veterinarian, the IACUC Veterinarian, the IACUC Vice Chair, and UNH’s authorized DEA representative for controlled substances.   He also works for COLSA as the Agricultural Experiment Station Veterinarian.

Rescheduling of July and August IACUC Meetings

The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) has had to cancel its July and August meetings and reschedule both to a single meeting on Monday August 1, 2011.  Any applications for the use of vertebrate animals in research or instruction that need to be reviewed at this rescheduled meeting must be submitted to Research Integrity Services by the end of the day on Tuesday, July 26, 2011.  Please contact Julie Simpson in Research Integrity Services (603-862-2003) with any questions.

The UNH Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects in Research (IRB) is instituting a training requirement for any individual who submits an application for approval to use human subjects in research.
