All students must file an Intent-to-Graduate via WEBCAT. Once logged in to WEBCAT select Student Services & Financial Aid, Student Records, and Apply-to-Graduate and then follow the on-screen instructions. You can only do this once on WEBCAT. If you need to change your Intent-to-Graduation date please fill out a Request to Move Intent to Graduate and bring it to Stoke Hall, Rm 126 or mail it to the address provided on the form ASAP.
For spring and fall graduation dates the deadline is the 4th Friday after classes start. For summer graduation the deadline is the 1st Friday in June. See the Academic Calendars for the exact dates for each semester.
A late fee will be applied to your account if you file past the posted deadlines.

The University has three possible graduation dates each year: May (specific date corresponds with Commencement), September 1st, and December 31st. (Note: There is only one commencement ceremony each year and it is in the spring.) You should select the term that corresponds to the semester that you will have completed all of your degree requirements. See guidelines below:
-Choose “SPRING” if you will finish your final classes in the spring semester; the graduation date on your diploma will correspond to the May Commencement ceremony date.
-Choose “SUMMER” if you will finish your final classes any time during the summer session; the graduation date on your diploma will be September 1st.
- Choose “FALL” if you will finish your final classes in the fall semester; the graduation date on your diploma will be December 31st.
All coursework must be complete and graded by the graduation date.
Please contact the Graduation Department at (603)862-1594 or (603)862-1592.
In WEBCAT you can click on “View Application to Graduate.” Please contact the Graduation Department at (603)862-1594 or (603)862-1592 if you have any questions.
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all graduation requirements have been met. If you filed an Intent-to-Graduate and it is discovered that you did not meet all degree requirements you will be notified in writing approximately 4-6 weeks after graduation. This letter will be sent to the diploma mailing address you provided at the time you filed your Intent-to-Graduate. Otherwise your diploma will be mailed 8-12 weeks after graduation.
You must re-file for the graduation date when your degree requirements will be met. Request to Move Intent to Graduate forms are available in the Registrar’s Office. There is no special fee associated with moving your Intent-to-Graduate to a new graduation date but regular filing deadlines and late fees do still apply.
All diplomas are mailed to the diploma mailing address you provide when filing your Intent-to-Graduate. If you do not provide a valid diploma mailing address your permanent mailing address will be used.
Diplomas are mailed 8-12 weeks after graduation.
Your name will appear on your diploma exactly as it appears on our student computer database. When you file your Intent-to-Graduate via WEBCAT your name and degree information will be displayed. If you would like a different name to appear on your diploma you will need to complete a change of name form. If your name has special characters that are not reflected on the database please contact the Graduation Office at (603)862-1594 or (603)862-1592.
There may be a hold on your account, we may not have an accurate diploma mailing address, or there may be a problem with your graduation status. You can check for holds and see your graduation status in WEBCAT. Please contact the Graduation Office at (603)862-1594 or (603)862-1592 if you have not received your diploma within the normal time frame.
Diplomas are reordered due to changes in academic record or a printing error. The diplomas are ordered before Honors status is finalized, so if you receive Honors we automatically reorder the diploma. Diploma re-orders are done on the 15th of the month. It will be 6 to 8 weeks before we will receive the corrected one. Check your account to be sure you have no financial holds. If there are no financial holds on your account, your corrected diploma will be mailed to you promptly. Some common financial holds can result from required exit counseling for Stafford or Perkins Loans, late fees or parking tickets owed to the university.
Proof of graduation can be obtained by ordering an official transcript via WEBCAT at no cost, or you can call or write to request a certification of graduation letter for prospective employers.
Please view your diploma mailing address for accuracy on WEBCAT to avoid any delays in receiving your diploma.
If you will be within eight credits of completing your degree and you file your Intent-to-Graduate for September or December by the May filing deadline with fee, you will be invited to participate in commencement.
September and December graduates are also invited to the following May’s commencement ceremony.
