A degree audit is a listing of what general education courses, writing intensive and BA language requirements a student has left to fill before graduating.
Every student receives one printed degree audit. This is usually done when he or she passes the 80 credit hour point during his or her junior year. It can also be done by filling out a blue Request for Degree Analysis form in the Registration Office or from this website. (A student can view his or her degree evaluation on WEBCAT at any time. An on-line evaluation is updated every time the student's record is changed.)
The graduation department researches each student's history to find what general education and writing intensive courses he or she is required to complete (based on catalog information for the year the student entered their degree program) and which of those they have yet to fulfill. A letter detailing the degree audit information and explaining graduation requirements is sent to the student and their advisor. It is then the student's responsibility to make sure all the requirements necessary for graduation are met.
