This web site is only for disposal/scrap requests of non-electronic equipment
(furniture, supplies, vehicles, etc.). For ALL electronic equipment (computers,
printers, audio visual, etc.) go to the Safe Electronic Equipment Disposal Form
on the IT Security website,
The Purchasing Office is responsible
for ensuring the proper disposal of University owned equipment, supplies or
materials that have been declared surplus property. Property Control is responsible
for maintaining the Property
Control System which maintains records on all USNH equipment. Equipment
which was purchased with grant or contract funds, or that may be listed as capital
equipment (see: http://finadmin.usnh.edu/pol_proc/chapter_11/pro11_020.html
) requires special handling through Property Control.
University Information During Information Technology (IT) Equipment Transfer and
Equipment Transfer Between University Employees and Organizations for University
University IT equipment, including but not limited to servers, printers,
personal computers, cell phones, PDAs, removable data storage devices, etc.
must be wiped according to university policy prior to transfer. Details of
this requirement are documented in the System Access Policy Minimum Compliance
document on Blackboard under "IT Policy & Security" section in the "UNH Faculty
and Staff" organization.
IT Equipment Resale, Disposal and Recycling
Selling university owned IT equipment or transferring the equipment to non-university
persons or organizations is
not allowed for the following reasons:
Administrative overhead and risk to university information exceed any
benefits of such sales or transfer
University software licenses are not transferable for private use
Selling equipment that was purchased with university funds or under
an academic discount program for private use is not appropriate
UNH provides IT equipment disposal, along with the appropriate information
wiping and recycling services through its Safe Electronic Equipment Disposal

of the USNH, without penalty.
Search for items offered to other departments within the University System and to the general public. The following features are available:
Search by categories (Furniture, Miscellaneous, Research Equipment, or Vehicle)
Search "all" items by leaving search criteria blank
Submit an offer electronically after searching by clicking the "Details/Submit Offer" button
Surplus can be transferred or sold to a department within the University System for departmental use. This option is available when a recipient is already known. Otherwise, surplus must be advertised. (See option below for Sell/Advertise).
