Why Join?

PrOVES is a unique opportunity for first-year students  to become familiar with the campus and our local community.  The leadership, service and social activities during the week allow students to form a community of friends, learn their way around campus and get settled in before other students arrive.

Led by a staff of former PrOVES participants,  students work in teams at a variety service sites that include the restoration of the John Paul Jones House in Portsmouth, trail maintenance and accessibility along the Great Bay,  join in a Senior Olympics program with an Adult Day Out program and harvest fresh produce from the campus organic garden.  Evening adventures include a scavenger hunt around town, a sightseeing harbor cruise along the Piscataqua River, and everyone’s favorite, an  open mic coffee house.

Fall 2009 Dates: August 23-28
