Program Description:

China is either one of our best friends or an enemy to be despised. Current criticisms from the “Blue Team” portray China as our major opponent, whose totalitarian ways are an enigma to the outside world; others have staked their companies’ future growth on developing business relations with the PRC. What causes these swings in attitudes, and how can we think about the relationship more objectively?

Lawrence Reardon, Ph.D., Columbia U., is an associate professor of political science at the University of New Hampshire. His research interests include Chinese foreign economic policy, the politics and economy of China, politics of religion in China, and Asian and international politics.
