Pet Ownership and Aging

Program Description:

This presentation will explore the benefits and burdens of pet ownership as the owner ages. Does pet keeping allow owners to be healthier and live independently longer than people with no pets? Does owning pets cause financial burden and keep pet owners marginalized from those who do not own pets? These and more issues will be explored with a combination of audience interaction, presentation of research data, and case histories.
