Project 54 Datacasting

 

Program Description:

Project 54 is research project of the University of New Hampshire CatLab. Named for the TV Show “Car 54 Where are you?” this technology allows law enforcement officers to interact with their cruisers to perform functions such as lights, sirens and radar without touching a button. It allows them to run checks on people or motor vehicles and allows them to obtain crucial information from the National Crime Incident Center, all through voice activation.

Scott Valcourt

Scott Valcourt is director of IT project management & consulting services in the information technology department at the University of New Hampshire. Additionally, he is an adjunct faculty member in the computer science department and through his work as a former director of the UNH InterOperability Laboratory and Center for Software Systems, he is in contact with technology companies in New Hampshire and around the world, bringing research projects to UNH that benefit graduate and undergraduate students in a variety of technology areas and with several corporate partners involved in the projects. He earned a B.A. in computer science with mathematics emphasis from Saint Anselm College in 1992, a M.S. in computer science from the University of New Hampshire in 1999, and is a Ph.D. candidate in Engineering Systems Design at the University of New Hampshire.
