Good Carbs and Bad Carbs

 

Program Description:

Explains why some carbohydrates are considered 'good' and others 'bad'. What are complex carbohydrates, simple sugars, and processed carbohydrates? What is the scientific evidence about low carbohydrate diets? This presentation includes an engaging and colorful Powerpoint presentation and plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. It is intended for the general public; no previous knowledge of nutrition is expected.

Dennis Bobiliya

Dr. Bobilya received his Ph.D. from the University of Missouri in 1989 and has been a professor of nutrition at the University of New Hampshire since 1991. He have been teaching courses in sports nutrition, nutritional biochemistry, mineral nutrition, and vitamin nutrition. His goal is to optimize the health, fitness and performance of physically active individuals, especially athletes, through the application of scientifically sound nutrition. All of Dr. Bobilya's presentations will promote learning through a fun and engaging presentation.
