Criteria for Academic Honors 
The Honors Convocation celebrates the achievements of our September and December 2007 graduates and currently enrolled and matriculated students who meet the criteria of one of the following designations : University Honors Program Presidential Scholars, University Honors Program Scholars, Presidential Scholars, and University Scholars. These designations are determined by the following criteria:
University Honors Program Presidential Scholars Criteria
- • At least 90 or more credits by February 15, 2008, of which at least 64 UNH graded credits. (These 64 credits may include credits for which the student is currently enrolled during the spring semester.)
- • University Honors Program students will have completed 32 credits of Honors work, including a 4-8 credit independent research project (senior thesis). Typically these credits include work done both in general education and in the student's field of specialization.
- • A 3.7 cumulative UNH GPA
University Honors Program Scholars Criteria
- • At least 90 credits by February 15, 2008, of which at least 64 UNH graded credits. (These 64 credits may include credits for which the student is currently enrolled during the spring semester.)
- • University Honors Program students will have completed 32 credits of Honors work, including a 4-8 credit independent research project (senior thesis). Typically these credits include work done both in general education and in the student's field of specialization.
- • A 3.2 cumulative UNH GPA
Presidential Scholars Criteria
- • At least 90 credits by February 15, 2008, including at least 64 UNH graded credits. (These 64 credits may include credits for which the student is currently enrolled during the spring semester.)
- • A 3.7 cumulative UNH GPA
University Scholars Criteria
- • At least 90 credits by February 15, 2008, including at least 64 UNH
graded credits. (These 64 credits may include credits for which the student is currently enrolled during the spring semester.)
- • A 3.2 cumulative UNH GPA
- • Students earning an associate degree must have earned 32 or more credits by February 15, 2008, including at least 12 UNH graded credits. (These 12 credits may include credits for which the student is currently enrolled during the spring semester.)
- • A 3.2 cumulative UNH GPA
Enrollment in the UNH Honors Program is not required for participation in the Honors Convocation.
Students or parents with questions regarding criteria or qualifications for honors should contact the Registrar's Office at 603-862-1500. However, specific information about grades or averages must be discussed in person, with the student only, and cannot be given over the phone.
