American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, NH
Annual Report FY09

The University of New Hampshire serves as a resource for the people and communities of the state. In 2009, the Office of University Events and Programs (UEP) collaborated with the University’s Office of the Vice President for Research. Together, these offices provided state officials infrastructure, expertise, and personnel to communicate details of the federal governments “Economic Stimulus Plan” to their key constituents. In April, state officials held an informational forum at the University. Officials addressed questions posed by the nonprofit, educational, business, and municipal sectors of the state. Approximately 250 people attended this event with several hundred additional participants viewing it via live feed in eight different locations around the state.
On a short timeline, UEP played a critical role in designing and implementing the communications plan for this event, which was attended by Governor John Lynch, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, and Congressman Paul Hodes. This event has created new inroads of partnership between the University and state government and strengthened the image of the University in all corners of the state.
