Holiday Skating Party

Citizens of Durham, Lee, and Madbury celebrated the winter season at the University’s annual Holiday Skating Party held in the Whittemore Center Arena. This is a special event for the Office of University Events and Programs (UEP) because an energetic group of students works with UEP to continue a festive community tradition.

Students in Hospitality Management’s course, Meetings and Conferences, work with PEP to implement the event that serves up to 1,500 people. They experience all aspects of event planning from budgeting to volunteer management in the process. UEP thoroughly enjoys the double mission of aiding student education while furthering the development of town/gown relations.

This event features a silent auction that raised $2600 for the Durham, It’s Where U Live, student scholarship fund.

At this year’s event, UNH Video Services captured the students’ experience. Their story is being used for student recruitment.
