Hubbard Family Award for Service to Philanthropy
Annual Report FY09

In November 2008, the Office of University Events and Programs collaborated with the UNH Foundation to produce the Hubbard Family Award for Service to Philanthropy celebration dinner. At this annual event, an individual who exemplifies service to philanthropy is presented with the Hubbard Award, and benefactors who have reached new levels of giving to the University are recognized.
This year’s honoree Ed Fish ’58 donated substantially to the athletic facilities at the University and established a scholarship bearing his name. The Hubbard Award celebration dinner was designed to celebrate his love of football.
Lundholm Gymnasium in the University Field House was transformed for this formal banquet through draping, lighting, and décor. The University mascot greeted guests at the entrance and UNH football players escorted guests into the venue. Before dinner, guests stood on the balcony overlooking the stadium and listened to the UNH Marching Band. After the musical performance, the UNH football team saluted Ed Fish. At dinner, the wait staff provided service attired in black and white referee jerseys.
