Annual Report FY08
Legislative Events
PEP provides members of the New Hampshire General Court with opportunities, both on and off campus, to interact with UNH students, faculty, and administration to better understand the University’s academic mission and impact on the state.
Legislative Breakfast
More than 250 legislators and UNH guests attended the annual breakfast on April 9, 2008, at the Tuck Library in Concord, N.H. The event showcased undergraduate researchers and allowed them to discuss their research and poster presentations. Attendees also heard from recent graduate Gregg Hayward ’04 who participated in the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). Hayward described how his undergraduate research required the process of questioning, which proved to be a powerful tool. He went on to explain how his UNH experience and education prepared him for the Peace Corps, working on environmental issues in Zimbabwe, Africa. Hayward is the marketing coordinator for the George J. Foster Company in Dover, N.H.

Knowledge Economy Education Plan (KEEP - NH)
PEP collaborated with the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS) to celebrate the completion of the renovation of Kingsbury Hall on October 13, 2007. The open house on Homecoming Weekend demonstrated the impact of KEEP-NH funding.
Local Delegation Meetings
President Mark Huddleston hosted a breakfast with each of the delegations from the following areas: Durham, Dover, Portsmouth, Hampton, Exeter, Rochester, and Manchester. These breakfasts provide a great forum for the president to have a relaxed conversation about the impact the University has on the state.
