Commencement – 5/23/09

On Saturday, May 23rd, UNH celebrated its 139th commencement. The class of 2009 participated in a "sustainable" ceremony powered by the University's Cogeneration plant.

Honors Convocation – 5/22/09

On Friday, May 22nd, UNH celebrated Honors Convocation. Over 1100 students and their families attended the ceremony recognizing exceptional academic achievement.

The 2009 keynote address, entitled “The Honor of Citizenship: Education, Midwifery, and Democracy,” was delivered by Bruce L. Mallory, Provost and Executive Vice President.

UNH Speaker Alynna Lyon presents the topic of world peace to the Heritage Heights group in Concord – 5/29/09

Alynna Lyon's presentation, Can Democracy Assure World Peace? sparked lively conversation among members of the Heritage Heights group; a weekly group based on Concord meeting to discuss topics of international concern.

Lyon is faculty advisor for the UNH Model United Nations and currently serves as Chair of Ethnicity, Nationalism and Migration section of the International Studies Association and Vice Chair of the Human Rights Section.







Commencement Fair – 4/14/09

Over 1,300 caps & gowns were sold at the Commencement Fair in the Granite State Room of the MUB on Tuesday, April 14th. 

Student enthusiasm for graduation filled the room as students looked at their Freshman Class photo, recorded “Shout Outs” to play on the Jumbotron at the Commencement Ceremony on May 23rd, found career options in service organizations such as the Peace Corps and City Year, bought Commencement t-shirts and took photos with Wild E. Cat.
