Celebrate the University of New Hampshire
What is an inauguration?
An inauguration is a series of celebratory events organized around an installation ceremony. These events provide opportunities for the UNH community to celebrate all elements of the university and move forward together. Given the economic pressures facing the University, President Huddleston has chosen to make his Inauguration part of the larger, annual celebration of University Day—or UDAY. Doing so keeps additional costs to a minimum while ensuring “live” access to the day’s activities for everybody.
What is the difference between an inauguration and an installation?
According to the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), an installation ceremony is the formal ceremony through which the newly appointed president is formally endowed with the powers and responsibilities of the presidency. The inauguration refers to the entire celebration of ancillary fetes, feasts, and functions.
