Premedical/Predental is neither a major nor a minor at UNH; it is simply a non-binding academic curriculum that students choose to follow along with their major and General Education requirements. To be a UNH premed/predent means that you are a student who is:
The Premedical/Predental Advising Office
Premedical/Predental advising is available to UNH undergraduate premeds as well as all graduate, continuing education students, and alums who are preparing for application to graduate programs in the health professions. Amy Dickens of the University Advising & Career Center is the staff advisor responsible for coordinating the Premedical/Predental Advising Office, located in room 102 of Hood House (phone: 603-862-2064, e-mail: premed.advising@unh.edu). UNH premeds/predents should meet with Amy at least once a semester to discuss their progress and plans.
*** UNH students interested in nursing, occupational therapy, athletic training, and therapeutic recreation are not advised by the Premedical/Predental Advising Office since UNH offers majors in those disciplines. Start at the College of Health and Human Services homepage to link to information on those majors.***
The Premedical/Predental Advisory Committee
The Premedical/Predental Advisory Committee is comprised of 10-12 faculty members from various academic departments and colleges at UNH. James Pollard, Associate Professor of Plant Biology, is currently the Committee Chair. The Committee is responsible for decisions affecting the nature and format of premedical/predental advising at UNH, and also plays a key role in the application process by interviewing and providing a Composite Committee Letter of Evaluation for our applicants.
