Beginning with the fall 2006 entering class this seminar will be required for undergraduate Pre-Professional Health Program students* who should register for the course in either their first or second undergraduate year. Upper class students who may have only recently decided to consider a health professions career are also welcome to register for the course.
This seminar is primarily designed for first or second year undergraduate students, who are in the initial phase of preparation for a career in allopathic or osteopathic medicine, dentistry, podiatry, optometry, physicians assistant, pharmacy, chiropractics, or naturopathic medicine. Through readings, discussions, and guest lectures students will become informed about current topics in healthcare, and specifically about these professions, requirements for admission to degree programs, and about how to become a competitive applicant.
In addition, this seminar is also open any student interested in learning more about the above topics.
