This spring semester, UNH faculty, students, and staff will enjoy the convenience of Single Sign-on for Blackboard and Webcat. With Single Sign-on, just one UNH IT ID and password gives you access to

The key to this transition is your CISUNIX account. The username that comes before the @ in your CISUNIX e-mail address is your UNH IT ID and the password that you use to access your CISUNIX e-mail will be the password for all these services.

What does this mean for you?

Before you can use single sign-on, you will have to know your UNH IT ID and your UNH IT ID password (same as your CISUNIX password). If you use any of the following services, your username is your UNH IT ID:

Will all the applications I access use my UNH IT ID password?

No. The list below shows which applications will use the UNH IT ID password and which will not.

What if I don’t use Blackboard, Webcat, CISUNIX e-mail, or Webmail (webmail.unh.edu7)?

First, make sure that you don’t use any of these applications. You may use CISUNIX e-mail to forward your mail to another account and not even know it. Eudora, Webmail and Netscape mail all actually use the CISUNIX e-mail system.

Even if you don’t use Blackboard for your courses, many academic departments and university committees are using Blackboard to share information. UNH is also using Blackboard to deliver information to targeted groups like faculty and first-year students. Webcat has a special section for faculty that lets them check course and student information that is useful for advising. You will need to know your UNH IT ID and password to access any of these services.

How will I know when Single Sign-on is active?

When you go to blackboard.unh.edu, you will see a new "Logon" button.

After Single Sign-on is active, how will I log into Blackboard?

Point your browser to blackboard.unh.edu and click the Logon button. You will be taken to the Single Sign-on site where you'll enter you UNH IT ID and password.

After Single Sign-on is active, how will I log into Webcat?

Point your browser to blackboard.unh.edu and click “Please click here to Login.” Enter your UNH IT ID and UNH IT ID password and you’ll be logged into Blackboard. Click on the “Webcat” or “Student Services” tab to go to Webcat.

How can I get help if I need it?

There are two ways to get help:
• Go to CIS Walk-in Services, MUB 109, anytime Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Be sure to bring a photo ID.
• Call the CIS Help Desk at 862-4242 anytime Monday-Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
