Advising and Registration

Hurricane Katrina damage

Todd Szahun, a Political Science major, worked on a research project under the mentorship of Prof. William Ross of Special Collections in the Dimond Library. His topic was entitled "Rebuilding New Orleans after Katrina: Status, Policy, and UNH's Involvement."

Registration and Mandatory Advising Meetings

Majors select their courses for the upcoming semester during the pre-registration periods in November and April. Time & Room schedules are now available electronically at http://myunh.unh.edu along with a pre-registration worksheet. Fill out the worksheet with your four primary courses, along with four alternative choices. To register, you first must obtain your registration access code (RAC) to enter the computer system. NOTE: The RAC number will only be distributed by your advisor during the mandatory advising sessions, which will be offered four or five times during the pre-registration period. Once the advisors approve your course selections, they will give you your RAC number and your registration window time. For more information regarding registering for classes, click here.

Faculty Advisors

The Political Science Department has established an advising committee made up of three professors and the Academic Assistant. They will be responsible for advising you on your course selections and requirements for graduation. When you declare the major, one of the advisors will be assigned to you. You may call the Department at (603) 862-1750 to inquire who your advisor is.
