Students entering the University as first-year or transfer students may declare a major in Political Science as part of the Admissions process.
If you are a continuing student interested in declaring the major, you would need to complete the change of program process. All UNH matriculated students are eligible to become political science majors. If you are an undeclared major, you need to see your undergraduate advisor at Hood House. If you are a declared major, you must meet with your major advisor, who will sign you out of the major and provide you with your personal student file. Your advisor should help you obtain a yellow Change of Program form, which also can be obtained at the Registrar's Office, Stoke Hall. Submit your completed form and your student file to your current dean. After obtaining their signature, you must deliver the signed form and student file to the political science department office in Horton Rm 321. The office staff will sign your Change of Program form, take your student file, and assign you to one of the three departmental advisors. To complete the process, you must deliver the Change of Program form to the Dean's Office, Murkland Hall.
