Welcome to the Department of Theatre and Dance 

We Offer:

BA Degree in Theatre
with concentrations in Acting, Musical Theatre, Design and Theatre Technology, Secondary Education in Theatre and Youth Drama.

BA Degree in Theatre with an option in Dance

Master for Teachers (MAT & MEd)
through the Graduate Education program with concentrations in Secondary Education in Theatre and Youth Drama.

Theatre and Dance Minors in General Theatre, Musical Theatre, Dance, and Youth Drama.

Scholarships for theatre and dance majors are offered annually for every theatre discipline (35+ theatre scholarships are awarded annually).

Performance opportunities include monthly faculty directed theatre & dance productions; student produced, directed and performed plays, improv, and comedy; student designed, directed, and performed showcases (musical theatre, dance, and puppetry-5 each year); Little Red Wagon & ArtsReach touring troupes produce 3 shows each year that tour to approximately 100 locations. The 2 UNH theatres include a 700 seat proscenium and a 130 seat black box.

Highly skilled faculty with advanced degrees are committed to teaching and directing during the fall and spring semesters. They each also continue to work professionally in their fields. They have a depth of professional experience, serve on prominent theatre boards and councils throughout the world, and have a vast network of contacts.

Paid positions for touring, technical, front of house, theatre camp directors/instructors/staff, public relations, and office positions. Work related positions for credit in internship, independent study, practicum, public relations, graduate assistants, touring, technical, performance, costuming, and management.
