Parents Association Awards Grants to Student Groups for 2011


2011 Parents Association Grant Awards total $18,750 for student projects.  6 student groups were awarded funding for their proposals. 

The UNH Parents Association's Grant Committee announced that they awarded a total of $18,750 for student projects.  Below is the list of awards.  Funding for these grants comes from a previously established endowment created through the generosity of past UNH parents.

$2,500 was awarded to the Film Underground to expand the Film Underground DVD collection in Dimond Library.  Library to match funds given by Council.  

$4,000 was awarded to the UNH Student Environmental Action Coalition (SEAC) to create a sustainable program called "Trash 2 Treasure".  The project involves recycling student cast off goods at the end of the school year, storing the items over the summer and holding a giant yard sale at the beginning of the following school year.

$4,000 was awarded to the UNH Wildcat Marching Band Colorguard for needed equipment and supplies for their expanding group.

$1,250 was awarded to the UNH Synchronized Skating Team (Ice Cats) to implement the Ice Cats National Send Off Show open to all UNH students and the community at the Whittemore Center Arena.

$3,000 was awarded to the UNH Baseball Club to purchase a movable pitcher's mound. This will allow the UNH Baseball teams to play games on home turf at the UNH Student Rec. turf field versus having to hold their games off campus.

$4,000 was awarded to the UNH Club Tennis Team for needed windscreens for the UNH Tennis Courts.
