PARENTS ASSOCIATION GRANT GUIDELINES
2007 FALL DISCRETIONARY FUND REQUESTS
Award amount - maximum of $2,500.00Deadline: Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 12, noon.
Applicants must submit 14 sets of the application & proposal,, including a detailed proposal and budget by noon of the deadline date. Maximum of 3 pages.
APPLICATION NOTES:
Anyone seeking support from the Parents Association for gifts under $2,500 should complete the Parents Association Grant Application Form and supply no more than 3 additional pages for the proposal request. Your proposal must address the Parents Association Grant Criteria listed below. The proposal must be detailed, include a budget outlining specific proposed expenditures, a list of other sources and amounts of support and a specific dollar amount requested from the Parents. Grant awards typically do not fund salaries or stipends.
Please include any pertinent information that you would like the Parents Association Gift committee to know about your group and its purpose. Students requesting funds must seek the approval of the appropriate dean, department chair or sponsor. Sponsors must sign and comment on the proposal being submitted.
The Parents Association Gift Committee will meet in December 2007 to review and recommend awards for approval by the Parents Council.
GRANT CRITERIA:
The Parents Association Gift Committee will be considering the following in evaluating submitted proposals:
- Overall quality and merit of the proposal as to how it effects the University and the University Community
- The number of people that will be directly and indirectly impacted by your proposal
- Specific efforts to bring the program into the University Community
- Benefits to scholarship and / or student learning and / or enhancement of the quality of the University
- Long term impact of the proposal for students and/or the University
- Feasibility of accomplishing stated goals within the proposed time frame
- Serious efforts to obtain alternative / additional means of support for your proposal
The Parents Association Grant Awards are given to proposals that are intended to have an impact on the University Community not typically undertaken by the University itself. Awards are also often seed money or matching money for projects. UNH Parents Association grant money is not meant to be a constant funding source.
Since money for these awards comes from undergraduate parents at UNH Durham, the awards are geared towards the UNH Durham undergraduate community.

Applicants must submit 14 sets of the application & proposal, including a detailed proposal and budget by noon of the deadline date. Maximum of 5 pages.
