At UNH - Parents make a Big Difference!
We invite you to become a member of the governing body of the UNH Parents Association - the Parents Council
For more than 30 years, the UNH Parents Association has been dedicated to maintaining positive and creative connections between you, your student and UNH. The Association strives to keep you connected to UNH and your student’s success. The Parents Association sponsors a variety of campus programs for parents and students, underwrites informative publications and a website. The Association is also involved in raising and distributing funds for projects that directly support students and the University community. The Parents Association is led by the Parents Council. The Council is an active and involved group about 30 parents who meet on 4 Saturdays during the academic year. The regularly scheduled Council meetings include guest speakers from the University administration and time to discuss ideas and work on projects that enhance and promote parent, student and university communications and involvement. These meetings are informative, lively and fun. We invite you to become a member of this dynamic working group.
Here’s how the Parents Council helps to keep Parents connected to UNH and their Students . . .
Keeping Parents Informed and Giving Parents A Voice- Providing Parent Newsletters, Resource Guides, Calendars, assisting at Open Houses & Orientations
Providing Opportunities to Join the UNH Community
- During Family Weekend, the Undergraduate Research Conference, as well as promoting the many other events taking place on campus which parents can share with their student and friends.
We Make A Difference at UNH by Giving Back to UNH
- Through our fundraising efforts we are able to run yearly grant programs which enhance the
University experience for our students.
- Funding Scholarships for students in financial need.
Please see our brochure & website for more information about all these programs . . .
You are invited to become a member of the Parents Council which organizes and administrates all these programs. Serving on the Council requires a commitment of time and attendance at 4 meetings during the academic year and other volunteering opportunities such as representing the Parents Association at College Open Houses and June Orientation Sessions.
