This module introduces Principal Investigators (PIs) and Project Directors (PDs) to estimating costs for, and developing, sponsored programs proposal budgets at the University of New Hampshire (UNH).

It is intended to be one resource for the development of detailed budgets and related documents, and should be supplemented by the specific budget and financial instruction information provided by the sponsor to whom the proposal will be submitted. Many informational resources, printed or electronic, are available to assist PIs/PDs in the preparation of a particular budget. These resources are referenced throughout this document.
